Tip 1 Diyabetli Adölesanların Hastalıklarıyla İlgili Kendilerini Rahat Hissetme Durumları ve Beden İmgesi Üzerindeki Memnuniyetsizlik Algısı

Abstract
Amaç: Kesitsel türdeki bu çalışmanın amacı, tip 1 diyabetli (T1DM) adölesanların hastalıklarıyla ilgili kendilerini rahat hissetme durumlarını ve beden imgesi üzerindeki memnuniyetsizlik algısını saptamaktır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmanın evrenini 15.02.2021- 15.08.2021 tarihleri arasında NE Üniversitesi Çocuk Endokrinoloji polikliniğinde takip edilmekte olan 120 T1DM tanılı adölesan oluşturdu. Örneklemini ise araştırma sınırlılıklarına uyan ve çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden adolesanlar (n=52) oluşturdu. Veriler, araştırmacılar tarafından literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan veri toplama formu ve Beden Algısı Ölçeği ile toplandı.Verilerin analizinde sayı ve yüzde hesaplamaları yanı sıra, one way anova testi uygulandı.
Bulgular: Adölesanların yaşları 10 ile 18 arasında değişti ve yaş ortalamaları 13.56 ± 2.16 olarak saptandı. Adölesanların büyük bölümü okulda, evde ve sosyal ortamlarda insülini doğru bölgelere yaptığını belirtti. Adölesanların beden algıları orta düzeydeydi. Evde insülini doğru bölgelere yaptığını belirten adölesanların Beden Algısı Ölçeğinden aldıkları puanlar daha yüksekti. Sosyal ortamlarda ana ve ara öğünlerini yerken kendini rahat hissetmeyenlerin Beden Algısı Ölçeğinden aldıkları puanlar daha düşüktü.
Sonuç: Bu çalışma, T1DM’li adölesanların hastalıklarıyla ilgili kendilerini rahat hissetme durumlarını ve beden imgesi üzerindeki memnuniyetsizlik algısının etkisini dikkate almanın önemini göstermektedir.

Objective: The aim of this cross-sectional study was to determine the comfortfeeling in adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1DM) with their disease and the perception of dissatisfaction on body image.
Method: The The population of the study consisted of 120 adolescents with T1DM who were followed up in the NE University outpatient clinic between 2.15.2021 and 8.15.2021. The sample consisted of adolescents (n=52) who met the limitations of the study and agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected with the data collection form prepared by the researchers in line with the literature and the Body Perception Scale. In the analysis of the data, besides number and percentage calculations, and one-way anova test were applied in independent groups.
Results: Ages of the adolescents ranged from 10 to 18, and the mean age was 13.56±2.16. Most of the adolescents stated that they administered insulin in the right areas at school, at home and in social environments. Body perception of adolescents was moderate. Adolescents who stated that they administered insulin to the right areas at home had higher scores on the Body Image Scale. Those who did not feel comfortable eating their main and snack meals in social environments had lower scores on the body perception scale.
Conclusion:This study demonstrates the importance of considering adolescents with T1DM's state of being comfortable with their illness and the effect of perception of dissatisfaction on body image.
